Why DigiFest Died!

It has been two years since Digifest (formerly called CCES) was held. In 2011 the September 22nd earthquakes hit Christchurch and immediately put paid to the event scheduled for that term. I took teams to the previous four events and my pupils go a massive hit out of them. They buzzed for weeks afterwards and really enjoyed the format that allowed them to express their creativity in a range of digital tool topics. The challenge is now to bring this event back to life, bigger and better!
Our next steps are to confirm the new venue, set up our website and get a range of fantastic sponsors on board who see the importance of encouraging technology, programming and building skill sets in the digital tools we are promoting.
